If you are experiencing playback interruptions while using Lark Player, such as songs or files stopping unexpectedly during playback, or the app pausing by itself when running in the background—for example, if you're listening to music with Lark Player and open a game or a news app, only to find that the playback suddenly stops while you're gaming or reading the news—don’t worry! The following methods might help resolve or minimize the issue. Please review the guidance provided in this FAQ and follow the steps one by one as instructed.
Method 1: Add the Memory Exception
To help improve playback performance in Lark Player, please kindly add the app to your device’s memory exception list by following the detailed steps below:
1. Open your device’s Settings menu
2. Depending on your system version:
For newer versions, tap on Device Care or Battery and Device Care
For older versions, look for Smart Manager instead
4. Inside that menu, select Memory to view memory management options.
5. Find and tap on Excluded Apps (this may sometimes be labeled as Apps not to be optimized or similar).
6. From the list of apps, select Lark Player and add it to the exclusion list to prevent the system from closing or restricting it automatically.
After completing these steps, please reopen Lark Player and try playing your media again. You should notice improved playback stability and performance.
Method 2: Add the Memory Exception
For Android devices running version 12 or higher
To help improve playback performance in Lark Player, especially for Android devices running version 12 or higher, please kindly disable battery optimization for the app by following these detailed steps:
1. Long press the Lark Player app icon on your device’s home screen or app drawer. Tap App Info (or the “i” icon) to open the app’s settings page.
2. Find and select Battery or Battery Usage settings within the app info.
4. Choose Unrestricted (or Allow background activity / Don’t optimize) to disable battery optimization for Lark Player. This will prevent the system from limiting the app’s background activity and help maintain smoother playback.
After completing these steps, please reopen Lark Player and try playing your media again. You should notice better playback performance.
For Android devices running version 11 or lower
To improve your experience with Lark Player, especially on devices with strict battery management, please kindly disable battery optimization for Lark Player by following these steps:
1. Long press the Lark Player app icon on your home screen or app drawer. Tap App Info (or the “i” icon) to open the app’s settings page.
2. Go to Battery settings.
3. Select Battery Optimization (this may be under additional battery settings).
4. Change the view to All Apps (instead of “Not optimized” or “Apps not optimized”).
5. Scroll down and find Lark Player in the list. Tap on Lark Player and choose "Don't optimize" or disable battery optimization by turning off the corresponding switch.
After completing these steps, please reopen Lark Player and check if the playback or performance has improved. Now, Lark Player will continue playing music without being affected by battery saver.
If none of the above methods resolve the issue, or if the issue is fixed using these steps, please leave a comment on this article or let us know through the feedback option in the app. We’d love to hear if the problem was solved!
